Harriet Fishman is an accomplished painter and teacher who has exhibited nationally.  She had contributed to the publication of “Drawing to See”,  a book published in 2005 with her late husband Nathan Goldstein.  Her work is featured in many books and videos on drawing and is in public and private collections such as the Danforth Museum, The Boston Public Library and The Arkansas Art Center.   She has been teaching for over 25 years and has traveled the country with Nathan Goldstein conducting workshops on drawing.  She also taught for many years at The Art Institute of Boston in Massachusetts. Harriet co-produced a documentary film on the Boston Expressionist Hyman Bloom:  “Hyman Bloom, The Beauty of All Things”.   The movie premiered at The Boston Museum of Fine Arts in 2010 and clips from the movie were included in the exhibition of Hyman Bloom’s work at the Boston Museum of Fine Art (2019 -2020). She also produced and edited a movie on the Boston artist David Ratner which was presented in conjunction with the artist’s exhibition at The Danforth Museum in Massachusetts.   Harriet continues to paint and teach figure drawing out of her studio in Portland, Oregon.
